1922 - Grant, founded by Gerry Grant, opens for business. From 1922 through the 1950’s, Grant manufactured and distributed:
·Engine overhaul kits
·Piston Rings
·Valve spring inserts (VSI)
1949 - Grant receives American Automobile Association "Certificate of Performance". Bonneville Salt Flats speed record for the Mobil "Jr" Special using Grant Piston Rings. Grant supplies piston rings to the Yellow Cab Company.
1950 - Grant "Piston Ring Special". Holder of the fastest official time ever made at Indianapolis Speedway 136.013 MPH.
1952 - Founder Gerry Grant helps design a specially prepared Ferrari that was run at the INDY "500".
1955 - Grant became an official sponsor of the prestigious Bonneville 200 MPH Club.
1960 - Developed specialty steering wheel for Karting.
1962 - Grant introduces the first custom steering wheel for the automotive aftermarket.
1963 - Grant becomes founding Member of SEMA. SEMA was formed by a group of performance industry pioneers with the help of the Revel Model Co. Grant President John Bartlett, an attorney, drafted the bylaws for the first association to represent performance parts for the automotive aftermarket and "SEMA was born".
