Company
Grant Products has an automotive heritage that began in 1922 with the founding of the Grant Company by Gerry Grant. Over the years Grant's product offering consisted of engine overhaul kits, piston rings, valve spring inserts, ignition systems and safety helmets. In 1962 introduced the first Grant Steering Wheel for dune buggies and quickly added steering wheels for the automotive aftermarket.
Today Grant manufactures a complete line of custom steering wheels and accessories. Grant produces wheels that are designed for the automotive aftermarket, racing, golf cars and utility vehicles, the marine industry, heavy duty trucks, and the RV/Motorhome industry. Our newest products include an expanded offering of steering wheels and Styling Rings for air bagged equipped vehicles. Grant is a tier 2 supplier to the automotive original equipment industry and an original equipment supplier to the marine industry. Grant operates a modern factory in Matamoros Mexico.
The Matamoros factory is an ISO/ TS certified facility. In addition Grant has a Distribution Center in Brownsville, Texas and a Corporate Sales & Marketing Office in Duarte, California. Grant also has affiliated manufacturing facilities in Italy and Asia as well. Grant manufactures steering wheels that add personal style to a wide range of vehicles. Grant has always offered innovative products, fine quality products, distinctive style, solid value and a wide selection of designs to express your individual personality.

2015
Grant adds a complete lineup of all new “Suede Series” and “Gripper Series” wheels targeted for all drivers and all vehicles. These wheels target the specific needs of the drivers. “Suede Series” offers driver most comfortable feel and outstanding look with custom stitching and colors as well as a great look of performance. “Gripper Series” offers drivers a strong grip for the most aggressive of all drivers in most conditions.
2014
Grant expands its offerings with new segments of race and performance steering wheels for the off-road and racing enthusiasts. In addition, these wheels focus on the SXS & UTV market while Grant continues adding new applications for this market as the lineup continues to evolve.
2010
Grant enhances it’s offering of Revolution Steering Wheel applications to many popular automobiles like the new Chevy Camaro, Ford Mustang, and Dodge Challenger. In addition we have a licensed Roush Airbag wheel for the Mustang. In addition Grant Marine adds some new models from designer Peter Granata to round out the line of wheels as the lineup continues to evolve.
2009
Grant Marine introduces a very fresh and innovative line of wheels from esteemed designer Peter Granata. These new wheels are destined to become timeless classics as their designs are truly unique and unlike any wheel introduced to the Marine Market.
2008
Official launch of the NEW Revolution Replacement Airbag Steering Wheel Line. Finally a wheel that is both safe and legal that will add style and elegance to a truck or SUV.

Grant received SEMA Founders award for exhibiting at 40 consecutive SEMA Shows

Introduced Heritage Collection Steering Wheel Line featuring a modular construction that makes it easy to custom paint or customize the rim to match upholstery.

Introduced a Utility Vehicle, Side By Side, and Golf Car steering wheel line.
2001
Grant Products De Mexico started in business. This (ISO, TS16949) operation is an OEM Tier 2 supplier of Customized factory Steering Wheels.
1997
Introduced “Styling Ring” Custom cover for Airbag Steering Wheels.
1994
Introduced “Banjo” Steering Wheel. Featuring modular Design using stainless steel and choice of Wood or Leather Grips.

Introduced California Colors Steering Wheels PHOTO California Colors flyer.

Introduced the complete line of stainless steel Destroyer wheels.

Introduced Vehicle Security System. "NO WHEEL NO STEAL" Features a removable Steering Wheel to deter theft.

The extremely popular dual plane and single plane Challenger Series Steering Wheels are introduced.

Introduced the first retail packaging for Custom Steering Wheels.

The first Formula GT Steering Wheel was introduced.
1973
Introduced "Tilt Wheel". Converted standard column to five position Tilt and designed to be used with any Grant custom steering wheel.
1969
Grant Marine Steering Wheel Line introduced to bring a high performance style to the Boating Industry.
1967
Introduced Grant Safety Helmets. Helmets were made of unbreakable "GE lexan" The same tough plastic used in space helmets of the Apollo Astronauts and Professional Football teams. During the rebellious Sixties, Grant took a side into manufacturing motorcycle helmets, the most Notorious being the American flag style worn by Peter Fonda in the cult movie Easy Rider.
1966
In the Sixties, when drag racing became extremely popular, Grant built the famous "Twin Toronado", a twin engine drag car driven by John Smizer and a second car built for the street as a daily driver for President Grant MacCoon. Specifications: ·1966 Oldsmobile Toronado

Grant introduced E.D.S. (Electronic Demand System) which is similar to a capacitor discharge unit. This New unit will deliver a fantastic 40,000 volts to the plugs.
1965
Introduced the famous "Flamethrower" Ignition. This patented system was purchased from Tom Spaulding and with a few refinements Grant was marketing the infamous "Flamethrower".

The first custom WOOD Steering wheel was manufactured.
1963
Grant becomes founding Member of SEMA. SEMA was formed by a group of performance industry pioneers with the help of the Revel Model Co. Grant President John Bartlett, an attorney, drafted the bylaws for the first association to represent performance parts for the automotive aftermarket and "SEMA was born".
1962
Grant introduces the first custom steering wheel for the automotive aftermarket.
1960
Developed specialty steering wheel for Karting.
1955
Grant became an official sponsor of the prestigious Bonneville 200 MPH Club.
1952
Founder Gerry Grant helps design a specially prepared Ferrari that was run at the INDY "500".
1950
Grant "Piston Ring Special". Holder of the fastest official time ever made at Indianapolis Speedway 136.013 MPH.
1949
Grant receives American Automobile Association "Certificate of Performance". Bonneville Salt Flats speed record for the Mobil "Jr" Special using Grant Piston Rings. Grant supplies piston rings to the Yellow Cab Company.
1922
Grant, founded by Gerry Grant, opens for business. From 1922 through the 1950’s, Grant manufactured and distributed:
